Jet suit trial for Great North Air Ambulance paramedics

A jet suit which would help paramedics “fly” to a fell top in 90 seconds rather than 30 minutes on foot has been tested in the Lake District.

It comes after a year of talks between Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) and Gravity Industries.

Andy Mawson, GNAAS director of operations, said users do not need to be travelling that fast to cover large areas of terrain, compared with someone on foot.
