Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is getting political. The former WWE champion-turned-Hollywood star announced his endorsement of the Joe Biden-Kamala Harris ticket in a video released on Sunday.
In the video, Johnson said he has never publicly endorsed a president before, but felt the need to take action ahead of the U.S. presidential election on Nov. 3.
He explained in the video that, “As a registered independent for years now with centrist ideologies, I do feel that Vice President Biden and Sen. Harris are the best choice to lead our country.”
Johnson — who recently partnered with Dany Garcia and RedBird Capital to buy the XFL — said he has been a registered independent with centrist ideologies for years, but is voting Democrat in 2020. The Rock topped Forbes’ list of highest-paid actors for the second year in a row, with reported earnings of $87.5 million.
He has entertained the idea of running for president in the past, and he still hasn’t ruled that out entirely.
